XP Laser Sport is going MOBILE |
|
XP Laser Sport has announced its plans to offer mobile laser tag
to the mid-atlantic region in addition to its existing arena in
Laurel.
Unlike
other mobile laser tags in the area, XP Laser Sport’s arena
will be self-contained. Resembling an inflatable "moon bounce",
players will play INSIDE the 34ft x 34ft
structure instead of on top of it. Up to 10 players will play inside
the arena which contains blacklights, music and wall-to-ceiling
panels(obstacles).
" We are really excited to be able to offer this option to
our guests" says Randall Meding, the assistant general manager.
"Many of our customers have expressed interest in having exclusive
use of our laser tag. We will now have the ability to take the party
to them".
Groups with indoor
facilities, like church or school gymnasiums will also be able to
rent the mobile facility since it can be inflated both indoors and
outdoors.
Groups wishing
to use the arena for fairs, carnivals and other activities need
only to have a level area (free of rocks or sharp objects on the
ground) that will allow for the arena
(34 ft. x34 ft.) as well as space for the staff to set up a small
canopy for the computer and sound equipment.

Want to have an all-night party at XP Laser Sport?
Now you can...tips for planning your XP Lock-In
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Tired
of the same old sleepover? Need a wholesome safe event for your
youth group or organization? XP
Laser Sport offers overnight lock-in packages that provide
a private, safe and secure environment for your event.
A typical lock-in begins when we close for the evening. After
the last public player leaves, we lock our doors and your
group has exclusive use of our facilities.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Access
in and out of the facility is strictly regulated by our staff
coordinating with your group’s leader. Unlimited laser
tag is available for the duration of the lock-in (play time
is based on the size of your group.)
Group
size is limited to a maximum of 120 people in the facility
at a time (maximum game size is 48 players). Larger youth
groups often coordinate with other entertainment venues (skating,
bowling, etc.) splitting the groups and busing them
to the next activity every two hours.
When booking
your lock-in, you should give at least four to six weeks to
allow for staff scheduling and better coordination of your
event. Prices vary depending on the size of your group, with
a deposit due at the time of booking.
Catering
and other food options are available but limited based on
the event start time.
Contact an XP Laser Sport reservation specialist for more
information at either (301)953-2266 or (410)792-8300. |

| Real
Name: Marc Mueller
Codename: Sul Sa
Age: 38
Marc, a 20 year laser tag veteran, began his career at the Baltimore
(Dundalk) Photon Center back in 1987.
He has played almost every laser tag system ever made and has visited
well over 100 laser tag facilities throughout the years.
"What
can you say...I LOVE laser tag!"
Marc is currently
ranked 5th in world. He is mostly known as a "master of strategy". |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
"That's what I love about this sport...the strategy. You can
have a team that is weaker in individual player skills beat a stronger
team with good strategy.
You can
play that team again and they think they know what your going to
do, and then beat them again with a different strategy. This game
is 95% mental."
Marc also works
at XP Laser Sport as one of their Managers. When asked what's been
the biggest change over the last 20 years...
"I think
the biggest change has been who plays laser tag. When Laser Tag
first came out, little kids really didn't play all that much. You
had to be at least 4 feet 6 inches
tall to play and even then the equipment weighed almost 20 pounds
so only older teens and adults played.
In the mid-nineties
everything shifted to small kids from 6 to 13 as the equipment got
smaller and lighter and most adults didn't think it was cool to
play.
Today we have
come full circle. We have parents who played in the 80's and early
90's who now share the XPerience with their children, it's the coolest
thing!"
Marc is also
an instructor for XP Laser Sport's player clinics. If you want to
improve your game, you can't afford not to attend.

| This
month focuses on making yourself harder to hit.
Yeah, it seems a little cheesy. I mean, you wouldn’t stand
out in the open leaning over or wiggling your body to avoid being
hit if you were in a combat zone. But Laser Tag is not
combat. It is a sport just like lacrosse, football or soccer.
If you have ever competed in or watched a lasertag tournament,
you have probably seen people doing all kinds of strange things
to avoid being tagged.
Some keep all their sensors behind walls to avoid being tagged.
Some lean their bodies at almost impossible angles to keep their
sensors out of their opponents line of sight. Others weave and move
their bodies to keep their sensors constantly moving thereby making
them harder to be tagged.
However strange or unrealistic they may seem, if done correctly
each of these tactics can be useful when playing.
